We are the only nursing home in Northern Ireland providing specialised care for the younger person with a physical disability (age 18yrs upwards).
We provide an alternative choice to those people below the ages of 65 who require a high degree of specialised care because of the physical disability brought about by injury or illness.
Since being established in 1993, we have gained extensive experience and expertise by expanding the scope of practice to be at the leading edge of modern care requirements. The team is led by experienced professional nurses within a structure that ensures everyone of individual care plans which are revised regularly to include clients preferences and choice.
In addition to our nurses and care assistants, we have regular visits from medical practitioners and physiotherapists.
All our Fees are as contracted with the Health & Social Care Trusts with no top ups required from the family.
Our Facilities
Our modern building is fully accessible to wheelchair users as it is purpose built and designed to European standards.
All available rooms are single with ensuite facilities. Some rooms are available as twins.
We have a large hydrotherapy pool, physiotherapy room, recreational and art therapy room in addition to two television lounges with TV and video.
All bedrooms have a staff call system, and television point with custom made furniture and individual secure storage.
The unique 'star' layout of the Phoenix Clinic is designed specifically for the easy movement by persons with a physical disability.
Our Hydrotherapy Pool
Hydrotherapy pools are specialist water pools, used to help treat a whole range of conditions and injuries.
Hydro-pool can be hired by external organisations/individuals. The Clinic does not provide staff for private sessions.
Different water temperatures and techniques are used depending on the condition to be treated, but our professional hydrotherapist can help you to get the most out of the sessions.
We are continually striving to improve our facilities, and in 2016 we opened a new changing area. This includes separate Male and Female changing rooms which are equipped with a ceiling mounted hoist to aid entering and exiting the pool.
